CloudLinux improves stability of the server by encapsulating each client in an isolated, secure environment called a Lightweight Virtual Environment (LVE), a kernel technology developed by CloudLinux.
CloudLinux includes CageFS – a virtualised per-user file system that uniquely encapsulates each customer’s files and running processes, preventing users from seeing each other and potentially exploiting sensitive information. CageFS offers complete isolation and prevents a large number of attacks, such as privilege escalation and information disclosure attacks.
Like traditional backups, our technology starts by taking a full snapshot of your data. But that’s where the similarities end. After the initial replica is created, Server Backup Manager continuously monitors changes to your data and saves only those bits of information that have changed. Since you’re not constantly running full, performance-killing backups, your system’s I/O operations aren’t taxed in any way,
Quick restore helps you to recover large file systems or entire servers very fast with Bare-Metal Restore. You can even restore while a backup job is running.
Individual recovery points are easily accessible through the web interface where users can select individual files, directories or entire file systems to be restored within minutes. When disaster really strikes, a complete server can be recovered using a Bare Metal Restore, keeping downtime and data loss to a minimum.
Shared hosting is a type of web hosting where a single physical server hosts multiple sites. Many users utilize the resources on a single server, which keeps the costs low. Users each get a section of a server in which they can host their website files. Shared servers can hosts hundreds of users. Each customer using the shared hosting platform’s server has access to features like databases, monthly traffic, disk space, email accounts, FTP accounts and other add-ons offered by the host. System resources are shared on-demand by customers on the server, and each gets a percentage of everything from RAM and CPU, and other elements such as the single MySQL server, Apache server, and mail server.
Shared hosting offers the most cost-effective way to get a site online since the costs of maintaining a server are split among all the users. This style of hosting is best suited for a small website or blog that doesn’t require advanced configurations or high bandwidth. Since shared hosting is not sufficient for sites with high traffic, high volume sites should look to VPS or dedicated hosting solutions instead.

CloudLinux is a linux based operating system which is essentially a set of kernel modifications to the Linux distribution that implements features to enable system administrators to take fine grained control of their server’s resource use, isolating users so that problems with one account don’t degrade the service for others.Cloud linux virtualizes user accounts called as LVE ( LightWeight Virtual Environment ). Each LVE is allotted a certain amount of resources.
If a particular account receives a sudden large amount of traffic or begins to use a lot of CPU or memory, rather than slowing the entire server and possibly causing a failure, it will slow only that particular LVE.
CageFS is a virtualized, per-user file system that uniquely encapsulates each customer, preventing users from seeing each other and viewing sensitive information. CageFS prevents a large number of attacks, including most privilege escalation and information disclosure attacks. It is completely transparent to your customers, without any need for them to change their scripts.
Linux was never meant to be used by a large number of unvetted users and is therefore extremely prone to hacking. It is far too easy for a hacker to obtain an account on your server by using a stolen credit card and signing up or by abusing an outdated script one of your customers has not updated for years. After that, a hacker has inside access to the server and can begin poking around and attacking your server. That leaves you with the nightmare of cleaning up your hacked server.
CloudLinux OS prevents this nightmare from happening. With CageFS, users are virtualized to their own file systems, preventing any individual user from seeing any other users on the server.
Even with this extensive security, a user’s environment is fully functional, and users do not feel restricted in any way. CageFS is completely transparent to the end user, yet impregnable to a hacker.
